Let me tell you something most travel itineraries won’t.

You don’t need to see ten places to have a meaningful trip.

In fact, some of the best travel memories happen when nothing big is planned. A long breakfast that turns into a conversation with strangers. A walk that leads you into a small street you didn’t know existed. Sitting somewhere beautiful and simply doing nothing.

When you slow down, you start noticing things you would otherwise miss — the way a city wakes up in the morning, the smell of food in a local market, the rhythm of everyday life.

And that’s when a place stops feeling like a tourist destination and starts feeling real.

Things I Always Recommend Trying

• Spend a morning walking around without Google Maps

• Sit at a small café and just observe people

• Visit the same spot twice — mornings and evenings feel completely different

• Talk to someone local, even if it’s just a short conversation

A Simple Slow Travel Checklist

Before your trip, ask yourself:

• Am I trying to see too many places?

• Do I have time to wander without a plan?

• Did I leave space for rest days?

• Will I try local food instead of sticking to what I know?

My Honest Advice

Don’t try to “complete” a destination.

Just experience it.

You can always come back.
